Anime Otaku Depot Gunpla Guide For Beginners Review

Anime Otaku Depot Gunpla Guide For Beginners Review

It’s not everyday that you see an anime retailer attempting to assist customers on learning how to build a basic Gundam model kit. Anime Otaku Depot LLC recently uploaded a video on YouTube for gunpla beginners. In the video, the person discusses what he believes beginners would need to know about the gunpla hobby.

The kit he uses in the video is the 1/100 High Grade Gundam Wing 0 from the “Gundam Wing” series. He shows the basic tools that most gunpla enthusiasts would recommend and describes the use for each one. Next, he explains some basic steps including confirming all parts are included, how to remove parts, and how to apply stickers. He also mentions about panel lining and shows a brief comparison between a part that has panel lines and one that doesn’t.

The video isn’t in great quality but it’s one of the few that doesn’t have random music playing in the background while a gunpla hobbyist build or details a kit. However, it doesn’t include the person building the Gundam Wing 0 in real-time but if you built a Gundam kit before you’ll probably believe it’s not necessary. The video is quite easy for newcomers to understand and may even motivate giving a gunpla a go.

What do you think?
