Probably my favorite movie from the series! Its action packed and has lot’s of humor it starts of with a waterfall where we see Sasuke take a bath and he uses his Chidori on the waterfall. It cuts to a scene where we see Shinobi in preparation of an attack as they fly over the mountains over a small village we then see Konoha being attacked by the Shinobi they turn out to be the sky country. They were defeated by Konoha during the great second ninja war after they challenged the five great ninja countries. They have the ability to fly by using a wing like contraption once fused with chakra or rather coating it. No one in Konoha is a match for their aerial abilities and is pretty much laid to waste but a mysterious doctor by the name of Shinou saves most of the villagers. Naruto is tasked by the doctor to bring a patient to the hospital where he meets up with Amaru a girl who is the pupil of the doctor, who collapses from exhaustion after searching for Shinou.
Naruto, Hinata and Sakura are assigned as a three man cell to escort them back to Amaru’s village. Sakura gives Naruto a small pouch and tells him its a gift from Jiraiya. It then cuts to Sai and we actually get too see why Sai is an Anbu since he is the only one able to take on the sky ninja with his Nipou, Choujuu Giga (Great Beast Paintings) in the form of a bird he defeats four of them in the blink of an eye as he is buying time for Shikimaru who finds out where their mother fleet is situated. We also come to find out that Orochimaru is ill and Sasuke has to get Shinou to cure him. Kabuto tells Sasuke what’s happened to the his village but he doesn’t seem to care. Shinou is also the doctor that taught Orochimaru the rebirth technique.
Naruto and the rest travels through the jungle by raft and Naruto and Amaru argue about how ninja are unreliable and they don’t have any bonds like she does with Shinou. Naruto tells Amaru in a hilarious way about the bonds he shares with Iruka, Kakashi and Ero-Sennin (Jiraiya) They then find out that a Shinobi from the Sky country is scouting the area they are in he capsizes the boat before being spotted since he was too distracted too notice the ninja while arguing. Amaru drops her scalpel under water and gets stuck in seaweed the funny thing is she almost drown even though she could have used the scalpel to cut herself free but whatever! After waking up we get to see a flashback of Amaru as a child she also wanted to be a ninja but Shinou tells her that he is no longer a ninja and the importance of saving lives’ Naruto saves her and is attacked by piranha and poisoned, Naruto in his infinite stupidity sorta finds out that Amaru is a girl because she is soaking wet and her clothes are clinging to her and show her female form.
Amaru turns out to be an orphan just like Naruto. Amaru saves Naruto from the poison when they reach the village is is in the process of burning. Amaru runs through the village trying to see if there are any survivors she springs a trap setting of tons of kunai and Shinou saves her but gets killed in the process but before dying he leaves her with the task of saving the villagers. After burying Shinou we find out through another flashback that when she was a child she had an unknown illness and Shinou took care of her without fear of contracting the disease. Naruto and Sakura are looking through the ruins where the villagers could be hiding and find Amaru possessed by Reibi: Zero-Tails so one of the 9 now 10 Tailed Beasts! Reibi tells them that when war fills the world and the people’s hearts are filled with darkness he/she shall rise again. Reibi will do so by eating the darkness in the hearts of people and we see a shadowy snake like creature wearing a mask he tells them he will rule the world and smiles ominously.
It cuts back to Sai who is still fighting the sky ninja but is at his limit. Shikimaru takes over as one of the sky ninja attacks him while Sai retreats . The Sky ninja not knowing that Shikimaru uses shadow techniques gets pulled down and is left frozen on the ground. We see Sasuke in the jungle as he just finished destroying a snake and puts away his sword. He senses the chakra from Reibi and we see that Sakura gets taken down by it. Naruto gets constricted in its tentacles and the Nine Tailed Fox is slowly taking over Naruto! Trying to resists him and the beast tells him how useless he son his own power and that he couldn’t even save Sasuke. Naruto goes Three Tails and attacks Reibi he seems to have the upper hand but gets pierced by several tentacles!
Naruto goes four tails and continues fighting. Reibi gets ripped apart and Naruto’s gift from Jiraiya turns out to be a repress spell. Naruto realizes that he wants to bring her back with his own power and confronts Amaru and tells her how she is supposed to be Shinou’s pupil and that she has to obey Shinou’s teachings and that she has to be good. Amaru gets released from the Zero-Tailed Beast and we see the Beast in a cocoon and TA TA TAAAAA!!!!! Shinou turns out to be alive!!! He is using the Zero Tails to revive the sky country using Ancor Vantian a flying city/ fortress!!! Naruto tends to Sakura and cheers up Amaru. Sakura wakes up punches Naruto The ruins are shaking and Sakura wants to get a backup team she tells Amaru to join her but she refuses wanting to stay and help find her villagers. Naruto seems to understand and tells Amaru to join him and swears to Sakura that he will protect her as they run into the ruins. The ruins and most of the forest turn out to be a giant floating city something like Castle in The Sky!
The sky ninja prepare to attack Konoha again and we then see Shino come out of the ocean and tells Shikimaru and company that it is unfathomable for him to fail a mission as we see one of the ships in the Mother fleet break apart as everything gets eaten by bugs. We see Naruto Amaru in the flying city. They head for the controls of the ship as Naruto takes out some ninja with Kage Bunshin. When they enter the control room they see Shinou sitting on a throne and Amaru is overjoyed by seeing him alive telling him that she knew he wouldn’t die Shinou tells Naruto asks him what the meaning of it all is Ancor Vantian was created after years of research and that it is the ultimate weapon of destruction and that it’s name means “Fortress of the Empire” Naruto then asks him why he is inside the fortress after being hit by all the kunai. He tells Naruto that it was easy fooling Sakura to think he was dead and that he used his Body Revival Jutsu to repair his organs! Amaru catches on that he is a bad guy and is literally tossed at Naruto. Shinou reveals that 14 years ago as a wandering doctor he traveled to many villages to obtain the Rebi’s power and how it took him 13 years to obtain the scroll to revive the Reibi which was located in Konoha. He informs Naruto that he has control of Dark Chakra. Amaru pleads with Naruto that something is wrong with him and to save him. Shinou tells Amaru that she was all part of the plan she then breaks down and Shinou starts feeling the Dark Chakra.
Naruto the tries to Attack Shinou but gets blown away by Shinou’s power He then transforms into what looks like a Super Saiyan level 4! Naruto uses Kage Bunshin to attack Shinou but gets beaten by Shinou. Shinou then sits back on his throne and tells Naruto that he is a king unable to accept that Shinou is a king Naruto unleashes a bunch of Shadow Clones and tries to attack again. Shinou takes them out with just a wave of his hand and the real Naruto Head butts Shinou and punches him continuously as he lies on the floor he then unleashes a Rasengan! It has no effect since as a medical ninja Shinou found out that muscles are strengthened through destruction and rebirth, and the more he gets damaged the more strength he gets!
He then attacks Naruto with Chou Kassei Ken” Super Revival Fist an attack that looks a lot like a Rasengan! Naruto is knocked out and Shinou grabs him bur a shadow clone attacks from behind but Shinou counters he then taunts Naruto to fight with his Dark Power. He tells Naruto that the Reibi told him about the power sleeping inside, Naruto continues to fight Shinou with his own strength. Shinou holds Naruto’s fist and tell him that humans are weak and how they are the cruelest of all creatures! He then continues to preach about humanity and how trivial love is compared to power but Naruto tells him to get over himself as he rises to his feet saying that he loves his teachers, friends and Jiraiya so much it hurts. He gets knocked down again and Shinou then stops trying to teach Naruto his truth since Naruto would never get it or accept it. Naruto continues to fight but get s knocked down by the Kasseiken: Revival Fist. Shinou tells Amaru to never forgive him and hold the hate in her heart!
Naruto is at the end of his power and tells Amaru that he can still fight and that he doesn’t mind her being sad or frustrated and how he will take in all the sadness and frustration for her and keep it inside. Amaru is about to use her scalpel to kill herself but Naruto obstructs the knife with his arm and tells her that she it’s wrong and that she has to keep living and tell her goodbye’s to Shinou since she never told him how she really felt about him. Amaru agrees and tells Naruto how Shinou was the first to ever praise her and tech her how to do something and how she felt beautiful for the first time and wondered how Shinou felt about her and that all she could think about was her Sensei! Amaru just laughs it off and Naruto is filled with rage and finds the strength to attack again telling him that if he dares to force his twisted ideals onto other people like that and how the feeling that love gives will never let someones heart get turned to darkness.
He then sees unleashes a Rasengan blowing a hole as it is deflected by an unknown force into the roof he then notices Sasuke hiding up high! Sasuke tells Shinou even though its sudden Orochimaru needs to borrow his power. Shinou tells Sasuke what happens if he doesn’t cooperate Sasuke replies by telling him he doesn’t care how its done. Shinou tells him not to underestimate the Dark Chakra and how he will use his Reborn Jutsu. Sasuke pushes him from behind and tells him to proceed with the technique! Shinou tries again but suddenly ages failing to do the technique. Sasuke asks what is wrong with him and why he can’t heal himself? Sasuke used the Sharingen to attach Chidori Needles into Shinou and disrupt his control over pressure points. Sasuke then tells him that he isn’t going to kill him but take him back to Orochimaru. Shinou tells Sasuke that he isn’t after him but a scroll and opens a compartment in the wall he tosses the scroll and uses a lever to open a escape hatch under his feet and flees saying it isn’t over.
Naruto goes after Shinou and Sasuke, he catches up with them and enters the room that’s being used to hatch the Reibi! The Reibi the attacks them he manages to get a sold of them both and Naruto demands that the Reibi release Sasuke. Amaru finds the villagers in a cell that sucks out chakra and sees Hinata. Amaru disables the cell using her scalpel. We find The Reibi continuing to beating them but Sasuke figures out how to beat it and unleashes the Curse Seal and Naruto unleash the Kyuubi’s Chakra overloading the Reibi! Naruto does his Kage Bunshin again and attacks using the Tatsumaki Rasengan: Tornado Rasengan! Sasuke uses his Sharingen to learn a technique and goes fill Curse Mode and destroys the Reibi. Shinou is still alive saying the Reibi is free!
Sasuke escapes and Naruto pursues him again as he confronts some guards Ancor Vantian is falling apart the villagers, Hinata and Amaru are about to board a flying ship and Amaru argues with Naruto saying that she can’t leave without him Sasuke then suddenly appears and tosses her into the vessel telling her to shut up! Sasuke saves the villagers from the Reibi’s tentacles and stands on a piece of the ship’s runway that breaks off he looks at Naruto but we cant hear what he is telling Sasuke who lands on the escape vessel. He then goes full curse mode and flies off Naruto is tells himself to get a grip saying that he has to stop the Reibi. He then recalls when Jiraiya asked him about why Shinobi accept apprentices because they inherit their master’s Way of th Ninja and that he is like him because he never gives up. Naruto chants the word determination and attacks the city using Determination Rasengan and tearing it apart barehanded using his Shadow Clones! The city crumbles into the ocean and we see Shikimaru and the rest discussing whether they should flee from the falling debris they are joined by the rest of the famous Chuunin you love! Amaru uses one of the flying wings to go after an unconscious Naruto as they fall through the sky she takes of the wings and catches Naruto. Naruto whispers to her that Sasuke once asked if he knew what it was like to be left all alone? He tells Amaru that he was always alone she tears up and tells him she will not leave him alone and be with him. Sasuke look from nearby on the ground as they are falling he smiles and walks away. Naruto tells her he can feel his friends we see GamaBunta extending his belly as a balloon cushion as Jiraiya sits nearby on a rock we see Sakura and some of the others. After the credits we go back to Orochimaru’s hideout who’s was given the scroll for the Body Revival Technique. Kabuto tells Sasuke how unlike it is for him to fail in bringing back Shinou. Sasuke gives a little hmmph as he walks away when Orochimaru asks him if something good happened saying he had a feeling it did Sasuke returns to the waterfall from the beginning standing on the water looking at his reflection we finally get to hear those inaudible words Naruto told Sasuke that he would definitely bring him back to Konoha. Sasuke pulls his sword and activates the Chidori Kouken: Chidori Sword of Light.
