Akina Minami Cosplays and Teruyuki Tsuchida Prefers What?

Now that Code Geass R2 is over (look forward for an emotional post on that), it’s time to look forward to the second season of Gundam 00. What better way to help promote the series than to hire Japanese celebrities to show their enthusiasm?

Both Akina Minami and Teruyuki Tsuchida attended an event to promote Gundam 00. Minami appeared in a Gundam cosplay costume that specifically designed for her. Tsuchida didn’t have a costume on him but he admit to the world that he loves “Gundam more than porn movies.”

Now that’s a true Gundam fan! The second season airs on TBS (that’s Tokyo Broadcasting Service, not the one we have here in the states) on October 5.

Check out the teaser trailer if you haven’t had a chance yet.

Okay, now for the more serious trailer.

Shin Sangoku Musou: Multi Raid for the PSP

Koei is one of the latest Japanese publishers to take advantage of PSP’s local multiplayer fever with Shin Sangoku Musou: Multi Raid. The game still require you to take over a particular point on the map but co-op play with your friends is crucial in your success. As in Shin Sangoku Musou 4, your character can undergoes Shin Musou Kakusei (or Shin Musou Awakening) but there will be more cool moves for characters in Multi Raid. Also mentioned in this Famitsu article is character customization and weapons upgrade. Check out some of the missions after the jump.

A look at Dissidia’s Enemy Encounter System September 28th, 2008

A look at Dissidia's Enemy Encounter System

Here’s a clearer view of how Dissidia Final Fantasy’s “Enemy Encounter System” works. You will be presented with a chessboard like map that your character can move on, the board will look different depending on which character is selected (Chaos Shrine is shown in these screens).

Moving on the board requires Destiny Points (one point per move and spelled as Distyny Point in another screen, typos?) that can be acquired after beating enemies. Besides the boss at the other end of the grid, there will be bonus items to pick up and minor enemies to fight on the board. Fighting is activated by moving next to the enemy. When the fight is over, your character will return to the board with his/her remaining HP. You can replenish their HP by picking up health items on the board, but these items will sometimes have enemies sitting next to them, so plenty of strategizing to be done here. The good thing is that you can check out the enemy’s stat by looking at the “Imitation Code” (shown below), which displays their level and DP Bonus to gain.

Also, some of the grids require certain conditions to be met before your character can move into (see the crossed grid in front of Garland in the top screen). There appears to be more elements that are yet to be revealed about the system, you can also earn LP and Story Point after each battle, their use is still unclear now.

Another feature being revealed is “Another Costume” where you can make your character wear other outfits before entering a fight. Onion Knight is shown wearing FFIII’s Luneth blue outfit in the Weekly Famitsu mag report (scan).

The board system sounds really cool, I’m not a good action gamer myself and was worried that the game is all fight and nothing else but this makes me even more looking forward to the game. The release date is Dec 18 in Japan, YesAsia is already taking pre-orders for $61.99.

Level 5′s Ushiro for the PSP September 28th, 2008

Level 5's Ushiro for the PSP

Since I am looking into Level 5 Games I might as well inform you that Another Level-5’s 10th anniversary title, Ushiro spots a grungy but cool look to it, a big departure from the company’s usually clean art style. The RPG has you as a messenger of a group of Shinigami and you’ll be sent to “keep people from doing bad things, like committing suicide or crimes”. The main character called Reiichiro will either in Shinigami Mode, where you control him directly, or in Possess Mode, where you can attach yourself to a NPC and follow him/her around. You can level up Reiichiro by fighting enemies called “Form” in the game. More screens after the jump.
