On October 14, Home Media Magazine, DEG: The Digital Entertainment Group, and the Entertainment Merchants Association presents the TV DVD Award event. In this prestigious event, the three companies will present awards in various categories. Consumers determine the winner in each category by voting on at HomeMediaMagazine.com and TVShowsonDVD.com.

For anime fans, FUNimation has some of their products nominated for the Best TV International DVD:

Bandai Acquires ‘Gurren Lagann’ Manga

Bandai Acquires 'Gurren Lagann' Manga

Bandai Entertainment has announced that it has acquired rights to the Gurren Lagann manga, and will release it in the U.S. in 2009.

Bandai has released the Gurren Lagann anime on DVD, and it is currently airing on Sci Fi Channel, both of which should make for a receptive environment for the manga.

Bandai Entertainment to Release 'Sola' and 'True Tears'

Bandai Entertainment has announced that it will release the Sola and True Tears anime under its Anime Legend imprint. The Bandai Entertainment Anime Legend releases will be subtitled only, with a single, comprehensive product for each title. Thirteen episodes of Sola, along with two OVAs, will be released at a $44.98 MSRP. The entire series collection of True Tears will be released at $39.98 MSRP.

The titles were originally licensed to Bandai Visual, and had most recently been planned as subbed and dubbed Royal Space Force: The Wings of Honneamise releases

New Fist of the Northstar for PSP

Hokuto no Ken Raoh Gaiden: Ten no Haoh, based on the manga and an upcoming anime series of the same name, was announced in the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu and here are the first few screens. The game will come out this winter in Japan.
